sunny days and rap

I am so happy that the weather is starting to be constantly warm. It is just starting to smell like summer and there is nothing better than that. I am able to go out and throw frisbee or football at the park and all that jazz, and warmer weather also makes for much better weekends. I love being able to roll my windows down in the car as well. I get to wear jerseys anywhere too. Basically, a lot of little things makes spring and summer weather so amazing. On Sunday I went for my first swim of the season, and it was probably the greatest feeling ever jumping into that pool.

I generally do not listen to rap music, but i do like Project Pat, and he had a concert this past weekend as I am sure some of you know. The concert was probably the rattiest thing ever. It sounded like the DJ had a project pat and a Lil Wyte CD like sitting in his car, and that is what he used for the concert. Project Pat and Lil Wyte just rapped over there tracks on the CD's. I couldn't see the stage because it was sooo crowded and I could barely move through the audience either. The only thing that made the night good is that a couple of guys and I saw Lil Wyte and his posse walking back to their cars and we talked to him. So, it was worth it.

Spring Break/Summer Plans

I could not afford Panama City for spring break this year, so I am going home to Nashville this weekend. Honestly, I am really glad. Next week would be the most restless, wild week if i were to go to Panama city, but now it will be the most restful week. I am looking forward to sitting around all day, taking naps, watching movies, and playing with my puppies. Sure, Panama is going to be hell-a-fun, but I am just not in the mood for right now. I am also saving a lot of money not going, too.

I started to think about what I want to do for summer and I realized what to do immediately. I went to a church camp from 2nd grade all the way through high school called Bethany Hills, and I had the most fun and best memories ever at that place. A couple of years ago they started to offer a summer internship there, where for two months (with breaks) you stay there and accomplish whatever needs to be accomplished on the campgrounds. I get 250 dollars a week which isn't the largest amount of money, but I won't need to spend much of it because I will be at camp all summer. This is also going to be a lot of fun.

Anyways, I can't wait to get back to Nashville.

This weekend was just out of control in Knoxville. It was s a lot of fun though. Boxing Tournament weekend is definitely one of the biggest weekends of the spring semester for this campus. So many people from all over the other SEC schools and other universities in the southeast come up. I got to see a lot of my high school buddies and I was able to show a lot of people around which are coming to UT next year. I am a little ashamed of myself for not even making it to any of the fights, because I knew a lot of guys that were fighting, and I could have given them more support.
Anyways, Sunday and Monday were absolutely magnificent days to recuperate from the weekend as the weather was just awesome. So many people were outside all across the campus running around. A couple of guys and I threw football in the courtyard for about an hour and it felt like spring was already upon us. I am really excited about going out fishing in the spring. Too bad that right now there is like a severe thunderstorm outside. It kind of killed all of my hope that spring was here. Oh well. I think it will get here soon enough.

I definitely need to get a job and become more frugal at the same. I always tell myself that should never have to spend money because of all the benefits I have with my meal plan and such, yet I still find myself spending too much money on worthless stuff. I also want get involved in something that will make me more busy. I feel like everyday I just sit around and not get anything done even though I am doing my schoolwork. I know I can do more than just mess around on addictinggames.com and facebook all day. I think that tomorrow I will probably go and look for a job.
I already have my summer planned out, speaking of jobs. I attended a small church camp within my small Christian denomination for all my life, and this summer I am going to be an intern at this camp. I get 250 dollars a week, but I get to have tons of fun while doing it. I love counseling camps, and that is entailed in the work. The only problem is that I may get a bit lonely because I stay in a cabin by myself all summer. I will get to come back into Nashville every once in awhile (it is only a 45 minute drive), and I will also get to have visitors. Overall I'm excited about the experience I will have this summer.

Bonnaroo and other stuff

I personally that this year's Bonnaroo lineup is unreal. First of all, I would probably spend the amount of a ticket just to see Pearl Jam alone. On top of them, there is still Jack Johnson, Kayne, Robert Plant (Zeppelin is my favorite band), Metallica, Allmand Brothers, My Morning Jacket, Willie Nelson, B.B. King, Levon Helm, Umphrey's McGee, Derek Trucks, and many more. I have never been more excited for anything in my entire life. I'm confident that it will probably be one of the best weekends of my life.

In other news, Rock band is the greatest video game ever invented. I'm moving into the field of expert status on the drums, but there are still many songs I have yet to conquer on expert. If you havn't played, it is basically guitar hero but with drums and vocals. In vocals it actually registers the notes you hit and if you aren't on pitch, it recognizes it. To me that is like the coolest technology ever. I just need to keep practicing though if I will ever be a true expert.

Anyways, I'm thinking about going to Athens, Georgia for the weekend pretty soon because I hear it is a lot of fun. I have heard it is different from UT, but still fun. If anyone knows a good weekend to go please tell me. Peace.

well it was back in the good old days of fourth grade at my elementary school, oak hill (Hell yeah). i had a buddy of mine in my class named alex whose mom actually taught first grade at oak hill. we had a drama class, which basically a theater class, and for some reason we had a substitute on this one certain day. well, because we had a sub i wasn't really paying much attention and i was just goofing around. my buddy alex was sitting on the couch next to me and he stood up to do something pertaining to class. well, i was bored and pretty immature so i put joked around and put the pencil pointing upward in alex's seat while he was up. my plan was to pull it away right when he was sitting down but he caught me by surprise. he came down right on it and he immediately screamed. it broke off in his lower back area and he immediately went to the clinic (basically the nurse). i was really embarrassed at this point and so i just sat quiet for the rest of class until i heard over the loud speaker of the entire school..."WILL LUKE SCHUYLER PLEASE COME TO THE CLINIC RIGHT THIS INSTANT!!!!!"

It was my mother.

i had completely forgotten that she was working in the clinic today. i raced up to the clinic with my head down knowing that everyone in the whole school had just heard that. my mom was waiting for me and she pretty just chewed me out pretty hard. alex's mom, like i said earlier, worked there too, and i had to go shamefully apologize to them both. it is a good thing the Mrs. Boyd (alex's mom) was and still is the sweetest person ever, and so she just laughed at the whole situation. the best part of the whole story was how my mom, when alex told her it was me, she simply said, "IM JUST SO PISSED OFF AT LUKE!". years later Mrs. Boyd said that the first thing alex said when he came in to her room was, "luke's mom said pissed" in a stunned, innocent way.

Now-a-days we look back at that and laugh hysterically. alex still has mark on his back.

--I posted a pic of the puppies on my userpics if you wanna see them.

New Golden Puppies

Well, it was an exciting weekend back at my house in Nashville (without me) when my golden retriever had five puppies. I am going back to see them on thursday night after class because I do not have class on friday so I am pretty pumped. Miss Emmy Lou, my dog, had three boys and two girls. I have been brainstorming for names for awhile, I still have no clue what to name one. In my own family we have three boys and two girls so we each get to name one of the puppies in our respective gender. If any of you guys love dogs/puppies, I will try and get some photos and possibly a video of them up soon.
On another note, I was extremely happy with the outcome of the superbowl. It was a very exciting game for a superbowl because for some reason they usually end up one-sided. I just get sick of any dynasty in any sport winning all the time so it was good to see the game go opposite than anyone expected. Plus, many of the Patriot players seem like jerks to me so it felt good to see them be shocked like this. They were a great team, but they didn't finish the season. It made for an entertaining game though.

I'm not going to lie, I was a little bit worried about this semester going into it because of my schedule. I have an 8:00 class let me just say that I, especially now that college has hit me, am not a morning person. I am even sometimes what some people might call "lazy". I was worried I was going to get in a bad habit early of not going to my early lectures, but I have really proven myself wrong. It was one of my new year's resolutions to go to more lectures than I did last semester, and so far I have really been true to my resolution. I usually don't hold those resolutions very well either. Here I am though, about three weeks into school and I have been to every class. Another thing that has come from having this early class is that I find life more enjoyable when I make myself wake up early and do something productive. It makes me feel good about myself. When I sleep until like 1:00 or later I wake up and in about four hours it is already getting dark. I guess I just enjoy feeling productive. That pretty much sums it up.

Concerns for public blogging

I really have no concerns in blogging publicly, but that is only because I'm not blogging something like my deepest darkest secret. I usually think to myself what I want to get out on the blog that may be worth reading to certain individuals. The only thing I may be concerned about is that possibly everyone sees my posts and just skips over them because they are not entertaining or they are just boring. On the other hand though, If I think they are interesting then people can just skip over it. I just like the setup of a blog page because of the way no one is forced to read anything. It is really up to myself if I am concerned because it all depends on what I let the reader know. Some people are only comfortable saying bits and pieces of their day while some other people are comfortable in spilling pretty much their entire life story onto the page. Either way I think it is important that the person blogging is comfortable with what they write. So basically I happy to put on the page what I choose to put on it. I thin it's that simple.
